REAL WEDDINGS 33  The big-day bake consisted of a tier of carrot cake, one of chocolate and one of coconut and lime. With fresh flowers adorning each layer it fit in a treat with the rustic vibe. It sat on another of Hannah’s crates, scribed with the wedding date and the last name they now share. LOOKING THE PART The bride looked stunning in her Justin Alexander Signature dress. “I knew exactly what silhouette I wanted for the big- day, but after an hour or so of trying on this style, I realised it didn’t suit me at all,” she explains. In the end the mother- of-the-bride picked out a gown, and once a bridal belt had been added, it transformed into the one. Due to the high neck, all Hannah needed to accessorise to perfection was a classic pair of crystal earrings, a dainty crystal bracelet, and a veil shimmering with diamantes. She says, “I wanted the look to be simple and elegant.” Zac wore a blue suit paired with a grey waistcoat and blush pink tie. “He chose it as apparently it brings out the colour of his eyes,” Hannah laughs. His groomsmen wore their suits with blue waistcoats allowing the groom to stand out. The couple’s very handsome pug was dressed in a matching suit. He had very important ring-bearing duties to perform, so the wedding bands were attached to his bow tie. The beautiful bridesmaids wore simple blush pink maxi dresses with a diamante belt sewn in to match. TIME TO CELEBRATE A string quartet performed as the guests arrived and during the drinks reception. Hannah recalls, “They were fantastic, as they played well-known songs, and were a massive hit with our guests. They also played as I walked down the aisle, and as we exited – just the most magical touch.” Not being ones for over-the-top sentiment, preferring instead to enjoy a giggle, the bride and her dad might have started out with a slow father-daughter dance, but moments in they busted into a medley of fun dance tracks. “This surprised our guests and really got the party started,” Hannah tells us. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Hannah shares: “The best thing about the day was how well it all flowed. We had the perfect amount of time together alone. I honestly can’t pick one standout moment, as the everything was perfect.” Zac remembers: “The highlight for me was the moment I saw my future wife walking down the aisle. She looked beautiful as ever and the first words to come out of her mouth were: ‘you alright?’ I’ll also never forget seeing our dog come towards me with our rings. That was a great moment that I definitely wasn’t expecting!” HANNAH’S WORDS OF WISDOM “Be organised and write down all suppliers’ contact details and know the order of your day early on. Remember: it’s your wedding, so don’t plan things to please other people. Finally, on the day, try to make time for you and your new hubby, as you’ll find yourselves split up a lot, socialising and taking photos. Enjoy the whole day and take it all in.”
