Your Kent Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 90)
As the bridesmaids’ ages ranged from 12 to 42 it was tricky to find a dress to suit them all, but we found the perfect ones at Matchimony. While they were all made from the same material, each bridesmaid was able to choose their own style ensuring everyone was comfortable and happy. Andy and his two best men wore three-piece indigo woollen suits, with pink ties to match the bridesmaids, and brown shoes. The groom had a special buttonhole to set him apart. We used Sprivers’ in-house caterers, The Curious Eatery. The food was amazing. Nicole and Lesley like to create unique menus for each couple, so you’re free to make suggestions, which is brilliant, and means you don’t feel like you’re on a conveyor belt. We put together a playlist of songs that had meaning to us for the welcome drinks and canapes, then had a DJ in the evening. There were also lawn games including a giant tug of war and croquet. I wore Pracatan by Ian Stuart. My seamstress sewed one of my dad’s cufflinks into the dress so he was there with me as I walked down the aisle, and I borrowed my mum’s bracelet. My shoes were ivory peep toe heels from Harriet Wilde. They were the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I didn’t even think about changing into the wedges I’d bought for the evening. The bridal party travelled in a Rolls Royce from Distinctly Vintage. The owner, Nigel, was wonderful. We loved the fact that King George VI and the Queen Mother had once travelled in it.
