They both felt an instant attraction, but spent 16 years in the friend zone before admitting it to each other and becoming a couple. Clare says, “This came as a huge relief to our friends who had endured a decade and a half of listening to each one go on about the other!” Andy surprised his love with a trip to Rome where he proposed, down on one knee, in front of the Colosseum. Clare remembers, “It was late at night, so no one else was around. He knew I would have hated an audience. I was absolutely shocked!” With such a romantic start to this story, we were desperate to find out more.
