Your Kent Wedding - Mar/Apr 2020 (Issue 89)
I’d seen a table plan idea on Pinterest where someone had pinned their table layouts to flowerpots. We recreated this with pots of eucalyptus to complement the bouquets and centrepieces, and placed them on a stepladder to suit the farm feel. We decided to give our guests Belgian chocolates as wedding favours as a nod to where we got engaged. Unfortunately though, it was such a hot day, they melted. The bridesmaids’ dresses were a floaty, floor-length design in pastel blue. Alastair was dressed in a traditional grey, three-piece, tail suit. He wore it with an ivory waistcoat and cravat to stand out from the groomsmen who wore grey waistcoats with blue cravats. I wore a Justin Alexander dress, which was very different to my original thoughts on the silhouette I’d go for. The fit and flare style seemed to suit me best, and I felt so elegant in it. I wore it with a simple cathedral-length veil – no other accessories were necessary as the dress alone was so beautiful. My cousin sang as we were signing the register, which meant a lot to us both. 62
