Plus, the weather was absolutely perfect. The men and the mother-of-the-groom arrived at the venue on a tractor. Our parents booked us a night in a hotel for the Saturday after the big day, as a wedding present. We have two children; so it was nice to reflect and spend time together, just the two of us. SANDIE’S TOP TIPS... Stick together when you mingle, otherwise you’ll barely get to see each other. Also, having a toastmaster makes a massive difference. They don’t just make announcements, they keep the big day organised and stress-free. We set up some garden games for everyone to enjoy during the day, along with a kid’s corner with colouring and reading books to keep them occupied. Our friends and family are all so friendly and chatty, they were more than happy to spend the day mingling and socialising. 58
