55 S andie and Matt had been together for eight years when Matt popped the question on a family holiday in Turkey. “It was a complete surprise, I didn’t think he’d ever get down on one knee,” Sandie says. They’d met as teenagers when working part-time in a shop while they were studying. Matt had arranged for a walkway of candles to be lit, with a bottle champagne at the ready. Their friends and family were excitedly watching on from a distance: “It was perfect having them there to celebrate with us straight after,” Sandie remembers. The couple had their hearts set on a particular date for their wedding day: 19th September 2019, their 10-year anniversary. They had dreamed of a barn wedding, so when they found out The Ferry House Inn was available, it seemed it was meant to be.
