Your Kent Wedding - Mar/Apr 2020 (Issue 89)
We upcycled a wooden pallet to create our table plan, and used photo frames to list each table’s guests. We used these again later to gift to relatives with a wedding photo inside. Guests’ names were written on leaves collected from the garden. These were later dried into confetti. The table names were photos of us taken in places we’ve visited together. Our flowers were the highlight of the tables – an array of blooms in different hues of purple with varying levels of pillar candles. We used biodegradable oasis and the flowers have since been dried and reused as confetti. The day was all about the entertainment for us. We had a surprise guest straight after the ceremony – Derek Sandy who later appeared on Britain’s Got Talent. He performed a reggae set whilst we mingled and had our photos taken. Much to my mother’s disappointment, we chose not to have a cake. We did surprise her with a miniature one as a thank you gift during the speeches though. REAL WEDDINGS 45
