Your Kent Wedding - Sep/Oct 2019 (Issue 76)

Because we were having an early dinner reception, Pomegranate Catering prepared food that tasted really fresh, delicious and wan’t too heavy. The cake was really important to us! We wanted it to be flavourful and visually stunning. We made a last-minute decision to add edible flowers, and The Little Cake Box in Canterbury was super flexible and accommodating. One of the many reasons we chose Mount Ephraim was so that guests could walk around the beautiful gardens. To create a casual garden party vibe, we provided giant Jenga, croquet, corn hole (a beanbag game from the U.S.) and lots of photo booth props, which were a hit with guests. So many of our suppliers truly made the day so special. When planning a wedding long distance, it was so important to hire suppliers we could trust and establish a rapport with. I used a free graphic design website to create the consistent garden theme in our stationery. I used these elements in the table plan too, which I printed on to card stock and placed on the back of our welcome sign board. Gosia from Mount Ephraim made our day a breeze and was totally in control of everything. Our photographer, Darren, went above and beyond to capture every detail. And Lucy, our florist, turned our theme into a beautiful reality. It was a really special moment to be able to serve apple juice from the Kent orchard where Robert worked as a teenager.
