Our choice of music was a real batch of cheesy favourites that would get everybody dancing! All we wanted was to make sure everybody relaxed and had fun. I had an equine friend, Pollyanna, visit us from the local riding school, where I take lessons. Our photographer took some lovely pictures, and the riding school very kindly allowed our guests pony rides. This was a real highlight of the day for me. Plus, everyone loved the glow sticks to get the party started. I wore a strapless gown with lace overlay in pale coffee by Ladybird Bridal. I didn’t have any fixed idea about what the dress should be so was open to trying on whatever the consultant suggested. It was a bit like selecting a wand in Harry Potter – the dress picks the bride; the bride doesn’t pick the dress! My appointment was such a fun, positive experience, and Leanda was great. Dan wore a navy suit and tweed waistcoat. The best man was dressed in his own suit, with a pocket square matching the groom’s. LUCY’S TOP TIPS… ❤ Take on board the advice of your suppliers. They’re professional, and you can benefit from their experience. ❤ Be open to things you hadn’t considered. If you’re hung up on one particular aspect that turns out not to be available, you set yourself up for stress and disappointment.
