Your Kent Wedding - May/Jun 2019 (Issue 84)
We fell in love with Winters Barns immediately. It had a beautifully romantic feel about it. The inside is just as gorgeous as the outside, and there was somewhere for us both to get ready separately on the big day. Our favours were handmade cookies iced with kissing lovebirds. White birdcages housing ivory and dusky pink floral arrangements sat atop wooden logs surrounded by tea lights to create the centrepieces. I made the table plan from a wooden panel framed with an ivory rose garland. Photo frames decorated with lace and pink bows listed guests’ names. I wore Robyn by Ronald Joyce and Claire looked beautiful in Ophelia by Maggie Sottero. Our dresses were very similar, but neither of us knew what the other had chosen! Many thought we’d chosen the same dress. Our 12-year-old son, Tobey, wrote his own poem, which he read during the ceremony, bringing everyone to tears. 52
