Your Kent Wedding - September/October 2024 (Issue 116)

For the flowers, Stag Cottage Flowers provided blooms that fit the country design I wanted while tying in with the venue and the rest of the theme. I chose for each mum to have a corsage placed on a pearl bracelet and the groomsmen had floral buttonholes. I ordered place names from Etsy. These were cut from wood to match the rest of the décor. We hired a horse and carriage from The Ostler Limited. This was an actual dream come true and was a very generous gift from a close family friend. The horses were absolutely beautiful and made the day extra special; we got some of my favourite photos with them! I always had my eye on Nurstead Court ever since we attended my great-uncle’s 90th birthday party there. I am a horse lover, and I love that more or less wherever you look, you can see a horse. It’s quite a low-key but impressive venue and it had everything we were looking for. My brother made several pieces of signage for the wedding; my favourite was ‘this way to buffet, booze and bad dance moves.’ He also made a lovely wooden ring holder for my stepson to carry. To complete the look, we hired fairylights for the marquee and wooden lights for the dancefloor. We chose a simple three-tiered cake from Cake-it-Away, decorated with buttercream icing and flowers. 48
