Your Kent Wedding - September/October 2024 (Issue 116)

two rings, each of which belonged to his late grandads.” Samantha had two bridesmaids and two maid-of-honours who wore beautiful ice blue dresses from David’s Bridal. TIME TO CELEBRATE “To keep our guests entertained, we had a classic photo booth, but the main feature we had throughout the night was an audible phone booth provided by the amazing Anita from Temptation Towers,” says Samantha. “Our guests loved it, as it was such a unique way to leave us a message! Our groomsman, James, was going for the longest recorded message. I believe he timed it at just over 30 minutes and got everyone in on it, including the staff, and we can’t wait to hear it!” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “Joseph actually didn’t feel nervous, but his emotions definitely caught up with him when we started the ceremony,” shares the bride. “I was a bag of nerves while waiting to walk to the ceremony, but they were good nerves, all excited and in anticipation of the day finally happening! One of my maid-of-honours realised that she had forgotten her bouquet just as we were about to get ready and start walking down the aisle, so one of the staff members had to run back up to the room and get it. Meanwhile, we heard the aisle music stop, so poor Joseph had to wait! “Three people in particular at the Cave Hotel & Golf Resort went above and beyond before, during, and even after the wedding,” continues Samantha. “A huge thank you to Megan, Fiona and Adam. Megan and Fiona for looking after us before and during the wedding, ensuring that everything was ready and that everyone was looked after! Also, thank you for helping us with the little requests during the day! And to Adam, not only for setting a record for running up to get the forgotten bouquet, but for also being so fun, entertaining and all around amazingly helpful the night before and after the wedding had finished!” FLY AWAY WITH ME “For our honeymoon, we jetted off to Mexico for 11 nights,” recalls Samantha. “It was lovely to finally relax and spend some quality time together as husband and wife! We’ve also booked a second honeymoon to New York for December, which we are beyond excited for as neither of us have been to New York before.” SAMANTHA AND JOSEPH’S TOP TIPS “Ensure that you take time out for just the two of you; the day goes so much quicker than you think, and you don’t realise how little you see of each other after the first dance,” says the bride. “Make sure you find some time to go off alone together and just take 10 or 15 minutes to take in the day and be together!” 43 REAL WEDDINGS
