Your Kent Wedding - July/Aug 2024 (Issue 115)

THE WEDDING CHAPS 07981 436 324 | www.theweddingchaps.co.uk The Wedding Chaps are a collective of Kent-based wedding DJs. Iain Baker from The Wedding Chaps tells us: “We’re on a mission to put an end to dull, boring weddings! We got off to a flying start in 2024 when our couples voted us ‘Best DJs for London and the South-East’ at The Wedding Industry Awards. We then went on to be Highly Commended at the TWIA national finals. We’re incredibly proud of this achievement, and we feel it vindicates our passion for helping our couples create amazing wedding parties. We will work closely with you to understand how you want your party to look, feel and sound. We get our kicks from sitting down with you over a cuppa to explore your wedding day vision and share some ingenious ideas with you to fill your dancefloor and create some special moments. “Getting to know you and the music that’s uniquely yours is at the very heart of what we do. You’ll receive our wedding entertainment planning book, packed with inspiring music lists to help you build your soundtrack and ideas to make your party truly memorable. Together with your vision and ideas and our expertise, we can plan your perfect wedding reception, filled with the anthems you and your guests love, while avoiding those songs and music genres that you haven’t invited to your big day. We could go on all day about how good we are, but don’t take our word for it; check out our reviews on Google to see what our fabulous couples have to say. We DJ marvellous weddings for fabulous couples! If you’re fabulous, then you need to speak to us.” www.matttrottphotography.co.uk VICTORIA BASS victoriabasssings@gmail.com | www.victoriabass.com Victoria Bass is a vintage-inspired vocalist specialising in jazz and swing, singing songs from the 1920s to the modern day in her retro style. “My style adds a touch of nostalgia with timeless tunes that cater to all ages,” says Victoria. “From Frank Sinatra to Norah Jones, Ella Fitzgerald to Eva Cassidy, and even your favourite 90s and 00s hits reimagined in a jazzy style, I’m available to sing as a soloist with high-quality tracks, with a guitarist or pianist, or with up to a fivepiece band. I am always happy to learn special requests as well as perform my usual repertoire. I’ve been performing at weddings for nearly 10 years and I will never get over how amazing it feels to sing someone down the aisle on the most special day of their lives. “My usual package would be to sing for 30 minutes as guests arrive, setting the scene with my favourite, romantic jazz standards. I would then get ready to sing someone down the aisle and continue to perform during the signing of the register and the exit song. Often, I then continue to perform throughout what is known as the ‘pregnant pause’, before the food is served. Although this is my most common package, I often perform after dinner, during the cocktail hour and before and as evening guests arrive. At this time of the evening, I love to throw in some postmodern jukebox hits and build up the tempo. As well as performing at weddings, private events, bars and restaurants, I also perform in several theatre tours, including Rave On, a 1950s/60s rock and roll show and A Night at the Movies. There is no limit to where I travel. I absolutely love this about my job and I’m so lucky to see so many different places. Although I adore singing classic tunes, I love it when couples ask me to sing something I’ve never heard. I have the option to make a custom backing track so that the song can be unique and they can have a keepsake of me performing it to remember their day.” www.mooiefeephotography.co.uk www.scottkendallphotography.co.uk www.mooiefeephotography.co.uk 54
