Owen came up with the fantastic idea of naming the tables after different UK festivals rather than using table numbers. We didn’t have place names; instead, we encouraged our guests to sit wherever they wanted on their allocated table. For our centrepieces, we used a combination of coloured glass bottles and macramé jars as tea light holders. We also incorporated fairylights inside some of the bottles and delicate flowers. We bought an assortment of flowers from Flowersmiths to create the bouquets. We also used artificial versions provided by family members to decorate some of the tipi poles. Having a festival-themed wedding meant that we needed an open space with plenty of room for a tipi and an outdoor seating area. We chose Moon Down because not only did they offer a very competitive price, but they also had ample power supply, our guests could camp overnight, and they allowed music until midnight, which was later than most of the other venues that we considered. The field was surrounded by woodland, which meant our guests could take strolls through the woods and get away from the hustle and bustle of the festival. We placed signs around the venue, and for our table plan, we upcycled some old picture frames by painting them bright colours and hanging them on a wooden board that stood inside the tipi. Our cake was made by Owen’s aunt, Amanda. We bought a personalised festival-themed topper from Etsy and gave it to her to help inspire the design and colour scheme of the cake. We left the details completely up to Amanda and it was a surprise for us on the day of the wedding! 48
