Aaron was too nervous to talk, whereas Marie was too nervous to stop! “The following week Aaron asked me to be his girlfriend and a rather drunk man came over to marry us, while sharing wedding advice that’s too rude to repeat!” Marie remembers. Aaron proposed on Marie’s birthday during the 2020 lockdown, while enjoying a picnic in the garden. “When I opened Aaron’s card and it said ‘fiance’ I worried for a moment that Moonpig had sent the wrong card,” Marie laughs. Then Aaron got down on one knee. The couple like to describe Marleybrook House as having “lots of pockets” but admit that Aaron’s step-mother puts it better when she refers to it as “a little village.” Marie explains: “There are so many different areas you can go to without getting lost from the main action. There are fun and quirky features everywhere you go.” It was also ideal for the kids activity Marie made as they were tasked with spotting different features. The date was set for 1st June, 2023.
