High ceilings, period fireplaces and architectural details represent the building’s fine Georgian heritage, combine to give you a sense of grandeur deserving of such a special occasion. Plus, the magnificent hallway with sweeping staircase and picturesque grounds offer stunning photographic opportunities aplenty. The mansion stands on 70 acres of grounds, which exude peace and tranquillity and the side terrace and main lawn are great spots for drinks in the summer evenings. The Imperial Lounge can host 80 loved ones for the ceremony. Part of the original house, built in 1717, this room boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and offers uninterrupted views of the grounds. The décor includes restored wall paintings and one of the venue’s three bars is located here. It can also host celebrations with the Oval for 150 standing guests. The latter dates back to 1780 and was originally the main entrance to the house. A series of floor-to-ceiling wall paintings in the Dutch style depict a lavish lifestyle and, combined with French doors, which open onto the grounds, give it a spacious yet friendly feel. It can be opened up into the Imperial Lounge for larger events or closed off to accommodate smaller receptions and celebrations. The Eugenie Room, also known as the dining room, is a visually stunning space. The grandest and most spacious of the venue’s wedding rooms, able to accommodate 90 of your nearest and dearest for the “I dos,” 74 seated at round tables for the wedding breakfast or 98 at straight tables, banqueting style. WE LOVE The Eugenie Room is enhanced by 18th-century oak-panelling rescued from Chateau de Bercy, a former hunting lodge of Louis XIII. Each room has it’s own individual character and style, with original features such as stone fireplaces, wood panelling and mullioned windows. Wedding parties can utilise the North Courtyard and pretty private garden for drinks receptions or barbecues on warm summer evenings. These areas can also be used to capture those allimportant photos, while you enjoy your day in complete privacy. There are four spaces licensed for ceremonies accommodating guest lists from 40 up to 100. The Parlour is an intimate wood-panelled room with a cosy feel reflecting the history of the house. It can host 40 for the “I dos.” The Great Chamber is a bright and airy space with views of the topiary lawns. Going up in capacity, the Tudor Kitchen can host 100. Another light space, It boasts stone walls and beamed ceiling. Finally, the Great Hall – a magnificent space it’s complete with chandeliers, a minstrels’ gallery and an abundance of natural daylight. As well as ceremonies witnessed by 100 loved ones, in can also accommodate wedding breakfasts for the same numbers, with space for 140 in the evening.
