I asked Roxanne at Little Wedding Warehouse for her ideas on styling a Harry Potter-themed wedding, she says, “Create a seating or photo booth area inspired by the Gryffindor common room. It’s such a special time of year and in 2022 we all get to appreciate it so much more given the last two we’ve spent locked up! I’m still coming back down to earth after issue 100 of Your Kent Wedding. It seems strange to be on the other side, but it’s exciting to make a start on the next 100 issues of wedspiration from real weddings and shoots, to expert advice and ideas. In my own wedding world, bride Melissa has been turning her attention to her best gals and we’ve now got our dresses, if not in our hands then on order. It was a bumpy ride, but thanks to Melissa’s unending patience, we got there. We’re now looking at the even more fun stuff such as accessories, shoes, hair and make-up, which has led myself, my fellow bridesmaids and the bride herself to ponder the matter of just whose job it is to foot the bill for the glam? This in no small part is due to the fact none of us seem able to get the lovely Melissa to take one single penny from us towards it. So, when Fragrance Direct told me they’d teamed up with wedding planer Hannah Rose to discuss just this matter, I was all ears! Thinking about the glam bill, Fragrance Direct asked Hannah whether it was the nearlyweds’ responsibility to pay for everyone or just themselves? She answered unequivocally, “Definitely everyone. If they’ve asked for people to be part of their day, the majority of the time this will fall to the couple to pay. Otherwise, their loved ones may be put off joining the wedding party. Some bridesmaids and groomsmen might be happy to contribute, but it’s always encouraged that the couple plan this into their budget and offer to pay for the basics such as hair and make-up if they want them to have it done.
