Q&A Fabsheaiountyand Look the best version of you with our expert advice www.gettyimages.co.uk LUSCIOUS LOCKS I’m wearing an off-the-shoulder dress for our wedding and wanted to know what hairstyle would work best. What would you suggest? An off-the-shoulder dress is one of the easiest necklines to work with when planning a hairstyle, as you don’t need to rule any style out. The hard part is then narrowing down the options. Look at the gown’s details to help. A sleek bun will be perfect if you have a lot of lace, detailing or embellishment. If your gown is more classic with satin or sheen material, wearing your hair down with a wave looks fantastic. Or, if your dress has a chicfitted style, go for a modern twist or Kim Kardashian high bun. Consider how you wear your hair usually, any accessories you’ll be wearing and your overall wedding theme. Have a hair trial to discuss all these considerations and styles to find the perfect look. Sabrina Buck | Love Is In The Hair By Sabrina https://loveisinthehairbysabrina.co.uk STYLED TO PERFECTION What style of dress will give me a timeless look for my manor house wedding? When you start scrolling through Instagram for wedding dresses, you’ll be bombarded with all types of gowns, including celebrity styles. While celebrities often choose dresses on the cutting edge of fashion, many looks will be out of style by next season. Diana’s dress was iconic with many details that make it easily identifiable as 80’s fashion – think big puffy shoulders and V-shaped waistline. Choose dress shapes that have proven to withstand the test of time. A-line, ballgown, or sheath silhouettes have been around for centuries and stay in style. Invest in high-quality fabrics that drape beautifully. Timeless fabrics like chiffon, satin and lace are classic. If you choose a style or fabric that’s a current trend, then the chances are that the fad will die off at some point. Instead, opt for simplicity, clean lines and minimal embellishments. If you want to add an edgy look, do it with accessories such as statement earrings, a bow veil or even a detachable overskirt. Another way forward would be to have two dresses! You could start with a more traditional look for the ceremony before changing to a more ‘on-trend’ evening dress or a bridal mini. We’ve just received the most amazing short bridal cocktail gowns where you can show a bit of leg, show off fabulous shoes and hit the dancefloor without worrying about your train.
