STRESSFREE STYLE Everything’s organised for my big day and I should be feeling great, but I can’t stop worrying about the wedding morning and getting my hair and all the bridal party ready in time! Shannon says: First of all relax and enjoy this special time and rest assured, your hair stylist will want to make sure you and your bridal party have the best start to the day. The aim is to make sure the morning runs perfectly so that you can spend your time relaxing and feeling excited for the day ahead. All of the final details such as arrival time, location and a rough schedule should be prepared beforehand after talking everything through at your trial, so you won’t have anything to worry about on your wedding morning. We always work out exactly how long we need with each member of the bridal party to ensure that everyone has plenty of time in the hair and make-up chair. Then all that’s needed on the day is enough space to set up, a comfy chair for you to sit on (both preferably by a window to get as much natural light as possible) and finally for the whole bridal gang to be aware of the schedule so that the timing runs without a hitch. As a general rule it’s a good idea to have everyone ready about an hour before the ceremony, but this depends on your personal preferences and what else you may have planned for the wedding morning. How long you need to get changed into your dress, as well as travel to your venue and time for photos are all things to consider too. We like to allow a little extra time as well for any final touch-ups and to help with things like fitting your veil or hair accessories. Can you help? Andrew says: For the 2021 wedding season ahead, weddings are becoming less formal and with the boom in micro weddings, brides are loving the natural relaxed beach wave effect. Boho is definitely the vibe for the summer and a combination of ponytails linking over exaggerated plaits gives a lovely soft bohemian look. As larger weddings start to return, I think more sophisticated, chic styles will emerge, with statement hairpieces becoming popular too. We’re already being asked for sleek controlled hair for 2022.
