Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - Page number 63 - July/August 2021 (Issue 87)
FLOWER POWER The flowers are a major part of a stylish wedding, not only to reflect the season, enhance the theme and colour scheme, but add fragrance and texture to the décor too. Whether it’s living trees and plants to bring the outside in, delicate spring buds and blossom, bold and beautiful summer blooms, or simple winter foliage, there’s something to suit all types of weddings and venues all year round. Increasingly couples are looking for sustainable, eco-friendly options and are choosing seasonal, locally produced flowers to cut down on air miles. Nicola Waddilove of Hampshire-based Petals & Posies shares her top tips: ❤ Choose the right colour palette for your wedding as this is one of the most defining elements of any wedding. It will set the tone from the invitations through to the table serviettes and everything inbetween. ❤ Think about the season as the colour palette can reflect this in every way. Spring pastel tones through to pretty blush shades, with richer hues for the autumn. Christmas gives us traditional reds or maybe choose a white winter wedding. ❤ Share your ideas and seek the advice of your wedding florist as they have a wealth of knowledge to combine the most beautiful seasonal blooms to blend and complement your chosen colour scheme.
