Kathryn and Pete’s fun wedding was a joyous celebration of all their favourite things Images courtesy of Yasmin Photographer Th tim K athryn and Peter had been friends for years before a lightbulb moment lit the spark of romance. “We were both widowed 18 years ago and my late husband knew Pete from our local nature reserve in Bishop’s Waltham. We all used to socialise together and after we both lost our partners, we continued to be friends,” explains Kathryn. “It wasn’t until Pete was giving a wildlife talk in a local hall that I realised I was attracted to him!” she reveals. After getting together, they discussed getting married, but not for a while, so when Pete popped the question, it was completely out-of-the-blue. “We were on the stone pier in Penzance, Cornwall when he asked me to marry him and it was definitely a surprise!” She said ‘yes’, of course! They tied the knot on 31 st August, 2019 at St Peter’s Church, Bishop’s Waltham followed by a reception at Rookesbury Park, Wickham.
