43  REAL WEDDINGS MARITIME MAGIC A nursing and nautical theme added a personal touch to Jenny and James’ big day Images courtesy of Nisha Haq Photography J enny met James at a bar in Southampton while she was working at the city’s general hospital and he was training at the nearby Warsash Maritime Academy. They were both on a night out with friends and Jenny caught his eye from across the dancefloor. Ed recalls, “I was thinking how to get her attention when luckily the DJ stepped in and saved the day by playing the dance classic Reach For The Stars by pop group S Club 7. With the beat racing through me and a repertoire of dance moves in full flow, I made my move.” Jenny continues, “I had a great night and James was a real gentleman helping me find my housemate who’d gone missing. We exchanged numbers and went on a date a few weeks later and the rest, as they say, is history.” James adds, “Over the following days, months and years my love for Jenny kept growing ever stronger and from a very early stage I realised I’d found someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.” He proposed while they were camping in France and had been carrying the ring around in his pocket waiting for the perfect moment. Sarah says, “I’d been hinting for a while but it came as a huge surprise when it happened. James made us a gorgeous picnic outside our tent one evening and half way through he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He’d designed the ring himself and I absolutely loved it and didn’t hesitate to say yes.” They tied the knot at Froyle Park in Alton, Hampshire on November 16 th , 2019.
