Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - January/February 2021 (Issue 84)
When I tried on my dress for the first time, I fell in love with it even more and the veil and tiara made me feel like a princess. I felt like royalty arriving at the church in a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud . “Our photographer Mike not only took the most amazing photos, he was a great laugh too.” All my bridesmaids found dresses to suit them from the same boutique as me, my mum got her outfit there too. The flowers were mostly blue and yellow as they are our favourite colours. C hris’ sense of humour and outgoing personality lit the spark for Katie when she started chatting to him online. “He made me feel completely at ease,” she recalls. Chris adds, “I fell for Katie’s beautiful personality and the fact that she never takes life too seriously.” After getting together as a couple, Chris popped the question on Christmas day at Katie’s parents’ home. They tied the knot at the parish church of St Peter-in-the-Wood in Appleshaw where Katie went to school followed by a reception at The Hampshire Golf Club on 27 th July, 2019. When it came to finding the one , Katie first spotted her Victoria Kay 1555 dress at The Hampshire Golf Club wedding fayre and made an appointment with Test Valley Bridal Services to try it on. When she arrived at owner Patricia’s boutique in Andover, not only did she find her dream dress there, but her bridesmaids and mum did too. Katie explains, “During all the fittings a friendship developed with Patricia and we decided to invite her to join the bridal party as my matron-of-honour. She was amazing and really stepped up to the mark. She also gave us her dressing-the-bridal-party service as a wedding gift. She and her hubby arrived in the morning with breakfast for us all, the dresses were perfect and she made sure I was looking my best.” Read on for more of Katie’s account of their big day... 32
