Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 83)
WIN! A LUXURY HONEYMOON IN THE MALDIVES. I s it just me or does Christmas seem to come round earlier every year? With all that’s been going on in 2020 it seems to have slipped under the radar a bit this time around. When the first selection boxes and festive chocs started to hit the shelves we were still basking in a late summer heatwave. Now that the nights have drawn in and the central heating’s on though, it’s time to start thinking about getting festive! Personally I love this time of year; nights in snuggled around an open fire, mulled wine simmering on the hob, and old films on the TV. I’m a great fan of ‘hygge’, a Danish ethos that, loosely translated, is all about simplifying things and enjoying the moment, bringing a mix of cosiness, charm and comfort into our lives. Not just for Christmas, but a great idea for everyday life and never more relevant than in the current challenging times. With many couples having to postpone their weddings, some have decided to tie the knot regardless and have a full-on party later once restrictions have eased. Intimate weddings have always been an option and can be just as special as large-scale affairs, particularly in the winter, with romantic candlelight and a wealth of cosy indoor wedding spaces available at venues across the region. Downsizing your wedding plans doesn’t have to mean compromising on the look and feel of your day. What’s more, we’re here to help you navigate the hurdles and plan your day, your way, with useful tips and advice from local experts on page 88. Photographers from Hampshire and Dorset are celebrating the season too with a gallery of wonderful winter wedding shots to share, starting on page 55. As well as all the regular features, this issue is packed with the latest bridal fashion, beauty tips, honeymoons, inspiration and more. Have a very merry Christmas, see you in 2021!
