Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 82)

44 The bridesmaids looked stunning in their burgundy Sorella Vita A-line dresses. We had a pianist play during the service and afterwards for the drinks reception. The chapel was decorated with hydrangeas tied to the end of each pew and our florist provided a lovely flower arch for the ceremony. My brother walked me down the aisle and he had to tell me jokes to combat my nerves. Once I got to John though it was fine, it was like I knew I was safe. I accessorised my Sophia Tolli Estelle mocha dress, with Ivory & Co droplet earrings and a rose gold and crystal Jimmy Choo hair clip. I also wore a Swarovski crystal bracelet which my sister bought me. John wore his No.1 petty officer Royal Navy suit, his best man and one of the ushers were also in uniform. The other two ushers wore tail suits with grey waistcoats and burgundy cravats. The bouquets were made from artificial flowers so we could keep them. Mine were burgundy and pale pink roses and the bridesmaids had white roses with diamanté which we reused as a table centrepiece. We had three flowergirls, my goddaughter Mollie, niece Ruby and our daughter Laila who was three at the time.
