Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 81)

REAL WEDDINGS 35  different causes that were meaningful to us and other guests at the wedding,” explains Hannah. The showstopping cake included a birdcage-shaped top tier, the middle was decorated with bunting and the bottom layer was surrounded by delicate flowers, in keeping with their theme and colour scheme. “The flavours included, Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle and caramel/butterscotch – it was delicious,” adds Hannah. Her mum made bunting to decorate the windows and tables in pastel pink, blue, green and lilac. “We had a sweet cart and chocolate table which were decorated with bunting as well.” TIME TO CELEBRATE After the wedding breakfast, Alex’s two best men Karl and Lee and one of Hannah’s bridesmaids Karl’s wife Senitta, surprised the happy couple by performing a medley of Disney and Mumford & Sons songs, all with revised lyrics about the the two of them. “It was so unexpected and is something we’ll never forget. We couldn’t stop smiling the whole way through and thanks to the videographer, it’s something the family has already watched again many times,” adds Karen. Guests were entertained by magician Sean Boon who performed a range of great tricks moving from group to group. “We love magic and it also fitted with the fact that we got engaged at the Harry Potter tour,” says Hannah. They also had a Harry Potter themed photo booth which they made themselves using a frame and stand. There were plenty of fun props and fancy dress too, which showed up on the dancefloor as the evening party hotted up. “Chris our photographer and D&T Video services were brilliant. They both gave us so much advice before and during the day, helping us to stay calm, laugh and make our day extra special. Everything they did seemed effortless and we couldnʼt be happier with the photos and video.”
