LUCKY STRIKE Fate played a hand in getting Hayley and Andy down the aisle Images courtesy of Lisa Gigante Photography A Christmas night out on the town sparked the beginning of Hayley and Andrew Kay’s love story. She was at university in Canterbury, studying to be a teacher when they first met at a local nightclub. “Andy was there with his friends and work colleagues. From across the crowded dancefloor, I was attracted to his Santa hat and good looks of course!” They started talking and arranged to meet up the following week. Fast forward 16 years and two daughters later, and Andy finally popped the question at a romantic restaurant in Rome in October 2016 while on a mini break he won in a football scores competition. “There was a one in 50,000 chance of him winning, so we decided it must be fate and we should take the plunge and get married,” explains Hayley. They tied the knot at St Hubert’s Church, Idsworth on 4 th August, 2018 and opted for a striking purple and orange colour scheme. Read on for Hayley’s account of their big day... 53  REAL WEDDINGS
