Your Hampshire & Dorset Wedding - May/June 2019 (Issue 74)

REAL WEDDINGS 49  in a blue suit with a grey waistcoat to stand out from his groomsmen who all had matching suits. Courtney’s parents laid on a vintage open-top car for the wedding transport. “Everyone kept saying how oddly calm I was on the morning. However, I was just enjoying myself with all those I hold closest to me and a glass or two of fizz” remembers Courtney. “I felt excited but really nervous right up until the moment I was standing at the front of the church, when all the nerves disappeared and I was excited to see Courtney walk down the aisle,” adds Jamie. THE DECORATIVE DETAILS They tied the knot on 13 th April, 2018 and included a nod to the season with bags of mini chocolate eggs as favours for their guests. The tables were named after some of their favourite places including Mexico, Tenerife, Egypt and, of course, Paris. “I got myself into such a tizz over the table plan but luckily, I went to work one night and when I came home, Jamie had sorted it all out!” The centrepieces were created by their florist Kim using rings of blush pink and white roses with greenery and gypsophila around hurricane vases. Their five-tier cake echoed the theme with a touch of sparkle and a black silhouette cake topper of a couple with a cat, in a nod to their pet kitty Penny. The chairs were tied with pink sashes and the napkins were folded in the shape of suits for the men and love hearts for the women TIME TO CELEBRATE “The DJ was great and during the evening we had a dance off between the boys and the bridesmaids. I’ve never laughed so much and everyone really enjoyed it. Our guests, and Jamie, also enjoyed a surprise fireworks display, which was a great hit,” adds Courtney. “So many people helped make our day memorable, but for me personally, having our close family friend Amber as our photographer was really special.”
