Your Hampshire & Dorset Wedding - May/June 2019 (Issue 74)
103 REGIONAL SHOOT T ake some dreamy dresses, add a sprinkling of vintage touches with a pinch of Italian flair, serve against the backdrop of a magnificent country manor house and voilà – the perfect recipe for a romantic big-day look. Suppliers from around the region pooled their talents to create this stunning shoot at the historic Mapperton House & Gardens in Dorset. Stylist Jennifer Jane Eveleigh drew on her love of vintage and Italian style to set the tone. She says, “I love vintage, but I believe the key is keeping it real, with authentic items. Italian style is always beautiful, so I wanted to combine the two. Our stunning ghost chairs helped to keep it light and elegant, contrasting with the original rustic trestle tables, glassware and layers of different foliage, simply laid out on the table and dotted with white flowers.” Mapperton House with its sandstone rustic barn worked brilliantly with the neutral colour palette. “I also like to throw in the odd antique piece to make the overall look feel special and different. We also set up our selection of beautiful King George folding wooden chairs and adorned them with posies of foliage and hung simple spray canopy lights from the impressive beams in the barn to give that magical and romantic feel. The combination of the raw building, glass and vintage furniture provided some timeless pictures and gave an al fresco feel to the whole event ,” adds Jennifer.
