These lovebirds first met at a friend’s garden party, where George asked Jhanvi’s friend for her Snapchat, and they started talking from there. Jhanvi comments, “I was drawn to George right away because I felt so at ease around him; he had a great sense of humour and didn’t take himself too seriously, which I valued in a partner. We just clicked; he always made me laugh, and we had such great banter. George found me attractive from the start, especially my eyes and hair. As we got to know each other, he realised we had much in common regarding what we wanted in life. Even though we have different personalities, I’m more outgoing while he’s more introverted, we both feel like we balance each other out and bring out the best in each other.” George’s proposal was actually quite a funny story. He had bought the ring to propose in the Dominican Republic in the Summer of 2022, but Jhanvi got Covid while they were there, so he had to postpone it. Instead, he ended up proposing in London, at the OXO Tower. It was a beautiful moment on the balcony, and the whole restaurant saw it, which meant a lot to Jhanvi as she knew George was nervous about proposing in such a public place. It was a surprise that it happened on that specific day, but they were both ready for the next step. SETTING THE SCENE The wedding aimed to create an unforgettable day for all the guests. The pair knew it would be a significant day for both families as Jhanvi was the only granddaughter, and George was the only child. So, they planned the entertainment, food and other details to ensure everyone had a great time. They can proudly say that they succeeded in achieving this goal. They also wanted the wedding to exude luxury and elegance, leaving a lasting impression. The bride had always dreamed of having her wedding at a stately home. Her love for The Crown and Bridgerton only intensified this dream. When the pair visited Somerley House with her parents, they were all in awe as soon as they stepped inside. The décor, the portraits, the gold detailing and the bedrooms were all so beautiful. Walking into the main hall felt like stepping into the Great Hall in Harry Potter; it was truly breathtaking. The fact that both TV shows were filmed at this location just added to the magic of the venue! The couple decided on personalised chocolates from Etsy as their wedding favours. These delightful square chocolates, elegantly wrapped in gold foil and white packaging, showcased their initials in gold, beautifully complementing their gold-themed décor. This thoughtful selection added a personal flair and highlighted their mutual passion for food. The table plan, created by Com Bossa, played a significant role in achieving the luxury and elegance the couple desired. It featured the venue;s outline, with the table numbers and guest names in gold script, set the tone for the event. The company’s matching invitations further tied everything together, creating a cohesive and sophisticated look. The couple’s choice of high and low floral arrangements, using light pink and cream flowers to complemented the colour scheme added a wonderful dimension to the room. The varying heights filled the space and added a touch of luxury and beauty to the tables. The pair had a grand floral arrangement above the fireplace during the ceremony and later at the wedding reception, all consisting of delicate light pink and white roses. The bride comments, “I chose roses because they are my favourite flower, so it was a way to incorporate my personal touch into the wedding. The colour scheme of the flowers perfectly matched our overall theme. I aimed for statement pieces rather than small elements, and these floral displays achieved that. Even my bridesmaids’ bouquets as well as my own matched!” The cake was a stunning three-tiered creation with elegant royal icing. It featured a beautiful decorative paper wafer that made a statement without being too flashy. It perfectly matched the simple yet luxurious vision the couple had in mind. They wanted something that would stand out in the ornate venue without being overly colourful or detailed. As for the flavours, they went for chocolate, salted caramel, biscoff and vanilla. The pair provided each guest with a personalised menu containing their chosen options and a name tag. This thoughtful gesture aimed to make each guest feel special and acknowledged. The name tags were light pink with a script font, adding a touch of luxury to the stationery.
