Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - May/June 2024 (Issue 104)

I loved our ceremony, Jan from Dorset Registrars was fantastic, my niece read our favourite poem (also sung by Artic Monkeys) I Wanna Be Yours by John Cooper Clarke and my sister wrote a reading about us which was so personal. I had seven bridesmaid and two bridesmen, it was really important to me that they felt comfortable, so I went for a green tone but let them choose the dresses. They wore matching flower crowns, earrings and gold shoes. My bridesmen wore matching cream jackets from Mango and matching ties to the bestman, fathers and my brother. I had a baby the November before our wedding, so trying on dresses on pregnant/postpartum came with its challenges. I loved how much dress made me feel, it was really flattering. My hair and MUA Rose Forrest made me feel like a queen too! We loved that you could get married outside, but if it rained the barn was equally as beautiful. We also wanted somewhere that we could accommodate our closest family, Gorwell Farm has a perfect cluster of houses for this – fully accessible too which was important. My dress was from Love Spell Design; the first bride to wear a new dress from their range has the dress named after them; they already had a dress called Lucy so they named it Lucia. I also wore a veil from Love Spell, my ‘something borrowed’ was a lace hanky from Cuba from my mum and her perfume, my sister got me a custommade white and blue garter, and my mum made me a bridal bag to match my dress as my ‘something new’. We fell in love with Gorwell Farm as soon as we arrived. The farm itself is stunning, full of natural beauty and beautiful landscaped gardens. You feel completely secluded, with the only noise coming from the breeze of the trees or birds singing. My husband got a cream, tailored, three-piece suit from Suit Supply, which looked so smart but also matched the summery feel of the day. He matched his tie with his best man, the fathers and my brother. He looked gorgeous! 42
