Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - January/February 2024 (Issue 102)

Our three-tiered cake featured a vintage style to match our theme. We had 20 floral centrepieces that were held in red and white striped popcorn boxes, as well as multiple balloons to give the spaces a carnival feel. We chose a big top red circus tent for the main hosting area, accompanied by two additional tents for the bar and kids’ play area. The wedding reception occurred at Henry’s family cottage as it’s a property that has been within Henry’s family for a long time. His parents have wedding photos of them on the same bridge from 1985. The property has a beautiful garden with lots of space. We picked St Mary’s Church for the ceremony as it has a long family history of weddings and christenings. We love going to festivals, so we wanted to balance the formalities of a wedding and the fun party feel of a vintage carnival festival. To end the day, we wanted a rave with an epic DJ and lighting set, which included a light technician in a big top circus tent. 32
