Your Herts and Beds Wedding - December 2022/January 2023 (Issue 95)

54 SAMANTHA ROBBINS AT ROSE RAE PHOTOGRAPHY How long have you been photographing weddings? Officially I have been photographing weddings for 18 months. However, I’ve been in the industry for years as a wedding waitress and working for an events company. I have always loved photography and started my company after the stars aligned in 2021. Having worked in some fairly high-pressured and toxic work environments, it’s such a breath of fresh air to work in this industry where I can truly be me and show my passion for my work. I’m so grateful for those couples who put their trust in me to do this fantastic thing that I get to call my job. What packages do you offer nearlyweds? My wedding package is roughly eight hours long, from prep to the first dance/cake cutting if those traditions are included. I offer a pre-shoot to get to know couples and get them comfortable in front of the camera. I deliver my images to a private gallery, and there are options to purchase prints plus bespoke albums straight from the gallery. I can do shorter bespoke packages upon request. How would you explain your photography style? With muted-champagne tones, I take a relaxed and documentary approach to capture events. I ensure I’m detail orientated enough to deliver romantic, dramatic, cinematic and dreamy images. What is your favourite part of the job? It’s so amazing to be surrounded by so much love at weddings. I enjoy getting stuck in with prep when I arrive to capture the big and small moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. It’s an honour that people trust me to capture special moments and feelings that can transport you back to those butterflies on the day. I have been photographing weddings for nearly seven years, shooting my first wedding aged 17. It was an accident when I started the company. I got a part-time job in a photography studio and had no idea how much I would love it. After shooting my first wedding, I knew I had to do this for the rest of my life. I started my company the year I went to university, where I gained a first-class degree in photography. What packages do you offer nearlyweds? Each package contains a free slideshow of the highlights playing to the music from your wedding. My packages are very flexible but range from photographing the ceremony with group and couple portraits outside of the same venue to all-day coverage starting at bridal preparations and ending after the reception is in full swing. Engagement shoots can also be added to any package. How would you explain your photography style? I focus on capturing the atmosphere at each wedding, taking pictures that ooze happiness. Group and couple portraits are essential, but I love taking candid documentary-style photos without people noticing I’m there to capture the most natural moments. What is your favourite part of the job? Witnessing the love and joy from so many different people throughout a wedding day is the best part, including proud parents, the excited wedding party and the loved-up couple. I feel fortunate that I get to photograph amazing weddings, something I will never take for granted. Check out: www.tiacampbellphotography.com
