REAL WEDDINGS 45  W ith parents as best friends, Holly and Marc’s paths were sure to cross. “We’d met a few times before but it was at a family party that we got to know each other properly. We were the last to leave as we spent all night talking,” says Holly. They hit it off and arranged a first date at Box End Park for dinner and drinks. A few years later they were renovating their house when Marc surprised Holly with a night away in London. “It was a building site and I was also four months pregnant, so he decided to take me away as a treat,” she says. “We stayed at what was the Mondrian Hotel on the River Thames and had dinner in the Oxo Tower Restaurant where he proposed. He had the ring made by Rare Pink and it was perfect.” LOOKING THE PART Holly chose the Juri gown by Enzoani. “I wanted a fitted design and I loved the low illusion back, diamond detail and the long train,” she says. She wore a cathedral-length veil and to finish the look accessorised with topaz earrings and necklace, with blue and silver Dune shoes for her something blue. Their bridesmaids looked stunning in navy fitted dresses with a detailed open back to complement Holly’s design, finishing off the look with blush pink fluffy shoes. The boys looked handsome in navy slim-fit suits, white shirts and a handmade bowtie in blush pink. “Marc’s shirt was customised with MHF (Marc, Holly, Forever) and our wedding date on the sleeves and he wore a tie to differentiate from the groomsmen,” says Holly. ROMANTIC SURROUNDINGS Eversholt Hall stood out for Holly and Marc as they liked that they could host their ceremony and reception at the same venue. “We also loved the barn-like surroundings that went so well with our colour scheme,” she says. Getting around in style, party buses were laid on for the bridal party, Holly travelled in a BMW and Marc was driven by his friend in a Land Rover Discovery. Holly’s bouquet was created with a mixture of roses, eucalyptus and gypsophila with similar flowers used throughout the décor. “We had a gorgeous flower arch that stood at the alter and then behind the top table and for our centrepieces silver candelabra stood on mirrored charger plates and were surrounded with small glass jars that were filled with blooms,” she says. For the ceremony a white carpet runner was placed down the aisle that was lined with different sized candles with rose petals scattered around the room. The beams of the venue and stairways were adorned with fairylights and lanterns containing candles framed the mirrored table plan and order of the day. SWEET TREATS A watercolour design was used throughout the stationery, which was created by Holly’s talented cousin. Simple table
