Your Herts & Beds Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 74)

Gary arranged for an ice cream van to turn up in the evening as a surprise. It was the perfect treat. We even had a go at making the perfect Mr Whippy – it’s harder than it looks!  A pianist played during the ceremony and a five-piece band got the party started later on with a mix of modern and classic tunes. We barely left the dancefloor all night! For our favours we had gin and tonic and prosecco- flavoured sweets as they’re our favourite drinks and guests loved the sweet cart. It was a great hit with our guests!  Our table plan followed the same design as our stationery and we added the finishing touch by placing it an antique gold frame. We wanted a simple cake that matched our theme. We chose red velvet, lemon drizzle and Victoria sponge – it was delicious. Sarah’s top tip: Make sure you set a budget at the beginning and try to stick to it. We extended ours maybe three or four times! 54
