REAL WEDDINGS 43  R osie and Aaron met in St Albans on Aaron’s 23 rd birthday. “He was meant to go to Henlow for the dog racing but due to snow it was cancelled so he ended up going to St Albans and luckily he met me instead!” says Rosie. “He was out with a group who knew my friend and after offering to buy me a drink we spent the rest of the night talking.” A couple of years later, with the help of his family, Aaron proposed. “We went to a local pub for a quick meal in which time he had his sister, mum and step dad decorate the garden with fairylights, roses and candles,” Rosie says. “It was a lovely clear starry night, which made it even more perfect.” DREAM TO REALITY The duo chose Offley Place for their venue and couldn’t have been happier. “I’ve loved Offley ever since being a young girl and dreamed of getting married there,” says Rosie. “My dream truly became a reality on our wedding day! I love the big open spaces and the glass orangey lets in so much light to give it that real outdoor feeling,” she adds. LOOKING THE PART Rosie’s dress was by Stella York. It had an open-back with intricate lace detail. “I tried on lots of designs but decided this was the best style for me,” says Rosie. She accessorised with a lace-edged shoulder-length veil, a peacock feather crystal hairpiece and a necklace and matching earring set that Aaron had bought her for their first Valentine’s Day. To bring the peacock theme to life, their bridesmaids wore flowing dresses in coordinating colours. “I went for shades that’d match our big-day styling – green, dark blue and purple and they all looked stunning together,” she says. Aaron and his groomsmen complemented them perfectly in three-piece royal blue suits and Aaron stood out with a turquoise tie. ROSIE’S TOP TIP: Plan early and shop around. Try to find suppliers that love what they do rather than it being just a job. That way they’ll be so much more passionate and full of ideas.
