REAL WEDDINGS 65  Hannah’s top tip: Don’t stress about the little things. You get to marry your best friend and that’s what’s important. When it came to the boys, Steve, best man Daniel and ushers Daniel, John and Tom all wore three-piece suits with tails, tweed waistcoats and pink cravats. “Steve really enjoyed looking at the different styles and colours, then trying on various suits. He hadn’t considered tails but he looked great,” she says. FAVOURITE BLOOMS The bridal bouquet was brimming with a mixture of cream and pink roses and foliage. “I opted for roses as they’re my favourite flower. The arrangements looked so simple and elegant,” she recalls. Matching blooms were also used on the ceremony table and throughout the venue. “For our centrepieces we filled a selection of jars with flowers and stood them on a round wooden base. We were struggling to decide on what to have on the tables but we saw this idea at a wedding fair and really liked it. The look went well with the rustic surroundings,” Hannah says. Lanterns and fairylights were also used to decorate the barn, which complemented their colour theme perfectly. EMOTIONAL AND INTIMATE Hannah and Steve opted for a display of pink, grey and white cupcakes for their showstopper bake. “We loved how it looked and they tasted amazing. We had four different flavours – chocolate, salted caramel, lemon and vanilla. We’ve saved the top tier for our first anniversary!” she says. A guitarist played throughout the afternoon and a DJ created laughter and filled the dancefloor in the evening. “The guitarist was incredible, our guests loved his songs and his amazing voice!” The happy couple chose Ian and Emma of Ian Scott Photography to capture their day. “They went above and beyond to create the perfect photos and we felt so comfortable throughout the whole process. We also had a pre-wedding shoot and got some gorgeous pics!” The celebrations were shared with just 40 of their close friends and family. “We wanted it to be an intimate day and it was. All of our guests were emotional at the ceremony and our photographers said that they’d never seen so many happy tears at a wedding!”
