They chatted for two weeks, arranged to meet in person in Leicester Square and the rest, as they say, is history. “I was so nervous that I nearly didn’t make my way out of the tube station,” says Kirsten. “We went for dinner at Spice, a Thai restaurant, and just talked all evening. It went really well.” They moved in together later that year and the following July during a holiday in the Maldives, Nick proposed. “It was just the two of us on the beach. I was sitting on a sun lounger sketching when Nick’s drone flew down in front of me delivering the engagement ring!” says Kirsten. “I knew he’d brought the drone as he was inseparable from it at the time but didn’t expect that at all – it was a lovely surprise.” The engagement was kept secret until the big day was planned and they told their loved ones by sending out save-the-date cards exactly a year before. Here Kirsten tells us more about their day… Kirsten Hulatt, 31, married Nicholas Reader, 44, at St Paul’s Cathedral, followed by a reception at Fanhams Hall on 10 th February, 2018.  REAL WEDDINGS 43
