GADDESDEN ESTATE 07957 638 086 | www.gaddesdenestate.co.uk Set in the Chilterns, an area of outstanding natural beauty and less than an hour from Central London, the Gaddesden Estate has been home to the Halsey family for 500 years. Today, the estate is a diversified farming enterprise offering film and photoshoot locations, event spaces and more. At the heart is the Golden Parsonage, built by the family in 1705. While the house remains in private use, the surrounding grounds are available for a small number of events each year. The grounds surrounding the Golden Parsonage range from formal gardens to fully wild spaces. The team offers complete flexibility to couples in choosing which areas would best suit their wedding reception, with the option to combine multiple spaces. Only a small number of events are held each year, ensuring exclusive, private hire. Located on the west side of the original kitchen garden, which is still in use, the Walled Garden Meadow offers the greatest flexibility in terms of space and is ideal for a marquee or tipi. The meadow bursts with wildflowers in spring and early summer, and the adjacent tree-lined avenue and folly provide a natural setting for blessing ceremonies. With a woodland backdrop and views across the countryside, this is the perfect location to personalise, available from June to September. Thought to have originated as a Medieval pond (now long dried up), Fishponds is a truly magical sunken garden set among the woodland and hidden from the house. Dine beneath a canopy of leaves under the stars or hold a blessing with friends and family in the area’s ‘atrium,’ secluded from all but the flora and fauna. Surrounded by mature oaks, Fishponds offers a unique experience for those who wish to dine among the trees, available from June to September. Designed by Nick and Viola Halsey and laid out at the end of the 20th century, Badger’s Garden comprises a series of more formal tree plantings with views over the countryside beyond. This unique location, overlooked by the main façade of the house, is ideal for intimate events and drinks receptions from April to September. www.sallymasson.com www.sallymasson.com www.lightdraw.com www.lightdraw.com 26
