Your Herts and Beds Wedding - February/March 2025 (Issue 108)

We both felt nervous and excited in the morning as neither of us liked being the centre of attention. The nervousness went away as we did the decorating and saw the personal touches coming together. After the ceremony, we were fully relaxed. Our number one goal was to successfully get married, so much so that we got married three times. We had a civil ceremony, a Christian blessing and a Quaker marriage certificate. The first thing about South Farm that appealed to us was the feeling of being in nature. The venue is in the Hertfordshire countryside and has a free-range farm and pigs, which you can stroke. The staff were very friendly and put us at ease straight away, which was very important as we were keen to have a relaxing and stress-free wedding day. The team were also great at including our more personal touches like the Quaker marriage certificate and petting zoo. The homemade chocolate brownies they gave us during the viewing also helped seal the deal. Two of our bridespeople created our Quaker marriage certificate, which was beautifully painted, showing the animals included in the table names. The driveway was lined with handmade bunting which Emma, her mother, and grandmother all helped to hand sew. The theme for the flowers was to be bright and colourful using native flowers to reduce our carbon footprint. The outdoor Summer House, where the ceremony took place, was decorated with flowers trailing down from the top of the window to frame us with flowers. The table centrepieces were mini gardens and flowerpots filled with flowers. 40
