It’s an ideal place for wedding breakfasts or receptions, accommodating up to 120 seated guests and 150 for parties. Alternatively, the Riverside Suite offers a much more contemporary feel and really is a blank canvas for couples to put their own unique stamp on their day. One of the oldest townhouses in the country built around 1530, the much-loved venue became the first village hall to be licensed for civil marriages in 1996. Over the years, it has undergone various refurbishments to provide a wonderful setting for intimate weddings. The beautiful wooden beamed 16th-century building, nestled in the landlocked Cambridgeshire and the quaint village of Barley, exudes an intimate and nostalgic charm. It’s a delightful setting for enchanting, quintessentially English weddings. The venue, much like the idyllic village surrounding it, is a perfect backdrop for memorable photo opportunities and has a timeless feel. The small outside space at the front of the building, with Barley’s Church as a beautiful backdrop, further enhances the intimate and nostalgic ambience. The venue is ideal for ceremonies and wedding receptions, offering a range of options to suit wedding needs. The under-croft, licensed for vows, can accommodate up to 70 seated guests. This is followed by wedding breakfasts and receptions upstairs, allowing guests to transition seamlessly from one part of the celebration to the next without having to travel. Upstairs can cater to between 15 to 100 people, offering flexibility for all types of weddings. Alternatively, couples can exchange vows at the property and then walk to the local pub, The Fox and Hound, for a change of scenery. This pub, featured in the Michelin Guide, offers a warm, homely yet luxurious atmosphere that pays homage to the traditional pub. Here, pairs will be served delicious seasonal British produce before returning to the venue to continue celebrations. Barley Town House has three beautiful wooden-beamed rooms for couples to put their stamp on, a large kitchen, a reception area and excellent facilities.
