Your Herts and Beds Wedding - August/September 2024 (Issue 105)

The wedding coordinator kept popping in while I was getting ready with the bridal party in the morning, looking increasingly worried but not saying much. I found out later that Josh and his groomsmen arrived an hour later than expected and turned up after some guests. I know Josh and his timekeeping, but I imagine the coordinator was stressed waiting for them! Walking down the aisle is a moment we will remember forever; it felt like a total dream, and I still can’t believe it happened sometimes. The groom and his groomsmen were all dressed in matching brown/grey tweed suits paired with forest green ties that perfectly complemented the bridesmaids’ dresses. My best girls wore beautiful forest green gowns with flouncy sleeves, gathered busts and long flowing skirts. Milling Barn is gorgeous with the ideal rustic atmosphere we sought. The staff were kind and hospitable, ensuring all our inquiries were addressed. As soon as we saw the spaces, we knew right away that this was the venue for us. I felt amazing on the wedding morning! I rarely get dressed up and have never had my hair or make-up professionally done. I didn’t know I could look so beautiful, confident and special. I chose silk and artificial flowers for the bouquets to complement the rustic vibe and our colour scheme. Plus, they can be kept long after the big day. The results were stunning, and my bouquet now sits in a vase at home. 34
