Your Herts and Beds Wedding - October/November 2023 (Issue 100)

The cake was one of my favourite things about the wedding! A close friend is a fantastic baker, and there was no question that we would go anywhere else. We wanted something unique, so we opted for lemon drizzle, cherry Bakewell, and vanilla cakes covered in chocolate skulls, disco balls and upside drips. Guests enjoyed a hog roast, which is our absolute favourite! We always wanted a relaxed help yourself option that would smell amazing. My bouquet, the bridesmaids’ flower crowns and the buttonholes were made out of dried and plastic flowers. We had a fantastic arch for photo opportunities made from recycled pallets, and the incredibly talented Becky Wells Events added silver balloons and tassels – it was a dream! Light Up Love provided our ‘The Westwoods’ sign. In the evening we had a grazing table, provided by the team from Kite at The Red Hart. It was one of the prettiest displays I’ve ever seen in my life! We had games boxes around the venue for guest to play – including drinking games! 38
