with lime pickle and mango chutney; mini beef burgers with cheese and tomato chutney; and honey mustard and rosemary sausages. “We are foodies so we chose a seven-course menu for our wedding breakfast with the following dishes: amuse bouche of burnt peppers and Manchego croquette; tomato and red pepper soup with piquillo pepper salsa and oil served with bread; griddled tiger prawns with jalapeno and garlic butter or a vegetarian option of heritage tomato salad with burrata, fig and artichoke; lemon sorbet with edible flowers; seared organic chicken breast with fondant potato, peppercorn sauce and seasonal vegetables or a vegetarian option of mushroom and walnut wellington with port reduction; chocolate and orange tart with honeycomb cream and tea and coffee to finish.” During the evening reception, they treated their guests to wood-fired pizzas and to finish, their chocolate-flavoured wedding cake with salted caramel buttercream and vanilla frosting on top of a macaron tower. LOOKING THE PART Lauren chose an A-line gown by Lillian West by Justin Alexander. “It featured a chapel-length train and I teamed it with a pair of sparkly gold shoes by Jimmy Choo which I loved, and a bracelet as my something borrowed which was from my nan who wasn’t able to join us,” Lauren says. “I wanted to keep my look simple so the only other jewellery I wore was a pair of earrings which were a gift from my mother and a long, single-tier veil. My sister did my make-up which looked beautiful.” Matt wore a dark navy suit teamed with a white shirt, pink tie, a pocket watch and a pair of black shoes. “There were no groomsmen but Matt did have a best man who wore a matching tie (along with my father and fatherin-law),” Lauren says. “Our beautiful cavapoo called Teddy also had a custom-made matching bow tie and looked so cute!” TIME TO CELEBRATE During their ceremony and reception drinks, Lauren and Matt hired a harpist and violist to perform as well as a magician to entertain their guests during the reception drinks. “He was a hit amongst our guests!” Lauren says. “In the evening, we had a great DJ and a saxophonist play a couple of sets which got the party going.” “We arranged transfers to and from our venue to a local hotel which we had recommended for guests to stay because taxis in the area get booked up quickly so we didn’t want any of our guests to get stuck and this way, we got to enjoy the full time with all of our guests.” - Lauren and Matt 40
