Your Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Wedding- Page number 31 - June/July 2021 (Issue 27)
One of my bridesmaids, Emily, is the owner of Barefoot Oxford Bakery, Coffee & Cake and, together with her husband Fraser, they created the most fabulous cake - we still have some in the freezer because it was so large! We gave each guest a note written in calligraphy inviting them to our house for dinner after our wedding and wrote that they could choose between a barbecue, me cooking or a takeaway. Elegant calligraphy was also used to write o ur place names and order of the day. Everyone loved our delicious donut wall! At the time of our wedding, I was running an interiors business in London so I purchased a fabulous full-length gold gilt leaner mirror and had a calligrapher write our table plan on it – we still have it in our dining room now! “We had so much fun - the entire day was filled with love and afterwards, all of our friends and family kept saying how it was the best wedding that they had ever been to because we focused on it being a great day for everyone, whatever their age.” - Constance and Rob. We had a ‘leave your wishes’ jar instead of a guest book which was a nice touch. Our groomsmen, and Rob, all wore navy suits teamed with sky-blue waistcoats, bow ties and pocket squares and brown shoes. Rob had a slightly different bow tie from the rest of the groomsmen to stand out. I chose a hair comb to be my something borrowed that came from my maid-of-honour. REAL WEDDINGS 31
