HOT TOPIC Our regional experts share their top tips KNEES UP Meet the experts: The Bees Knees Barn Dance Band are based in Gloucestershire with more than 20 years of experience playing at weddings. Can you give us some entertainment ideas for our micro wedding this spring? Norma says: Why not consider a barn dance band? Our line up is an accordion player (myself), a guitarist, a concertina and a caller to lead guests through the dances. This type of wedding entertainment can be enjoyed by all ages making your celebrations a truly memorable experience. I can also provide solo background music on the accordion at an appropriate moment during the event. For small gatherings, we can perform with just two (married) people playing the accordion and guitar, with one providing directions for a small number of couples or individuals to dance according to the social distancing regulations. In between dances, or if dancing is not allowed and for people who prefer to listen, we play a selection of traditional and well-known tunes. The music is not too loud to prevent normal conversation. We can also cater for larger occasions when restrictions lift either acoustically or with our amplification.
