76 Q&A Beauty Our experts share their big-day tips HAIR INSPIRATION Please can you give me some inspiration for hairstyles for me and my bridesmaids for my winter wedding? We all have long locks. Claire Guy is an award-winning freelance make-up artist and hairdresser based in Swindon, Wiltshire. Claire says: Winter weddings, especially those at Christmas, are so magical and they’re one of my favourite themes. One bridal style that’s always a firm favourite is the half-up, half-down look which is very on-trend and can be accessorised. A waterfall braid dotted with small snowflake pins or gypsophila is a great choice. Hair extensions can be used to add thickness and additional length if required. I can fit tape extensions that last up to eight weeks or clip-ins, and both use great quality hair so nobody would know that it’s not your own. Relaxed buns with braids are also very popular if you aren’t a fan of wearing your hair down and these can be styled to suit each face shape with framing waves if preferred. It’s not often that a bride and her bridesmaids wear the same style, often something decorative is incorporated into the look across the entire bridal party. This might be a braid or a twist that helps keep each style coordinated. Bridesmaids often differ in opinions as to how they would like to wear their hair and with a few to please, similar styles that are personalised so that everyone feels comfortable are a good choice.
