This new culinary destination is set to become one of the city’s most exciting dining experiences. Set against the backdrop of Marco Pierre White’s signature monochromatic styling, the restaurant’s surroundings are matched by the menus which are all devised by the chef. Bringing to life Marco’s philosophy of what he describes as ‘affordable glamour,’ this exciting and bright dining experience offers signature steaks alongside timeless English and French classics. The core values of the Steakhouse revolve around dishes that are simply cooked and served in an aspiring yet glamorous environment. Steak is at the heart of the menu, but the menu caters for all tastes and budgets. Michael Barnes, hotel general manager said: “It’s great news and there’s been a lot o f interest and excitement. The Stein family are excited to welcome guests to the restaurant once again. Rick, his business partner Jill, and their children Ed, Jack and Charlie have been busy updating the new menu, wine list and décor. Rick Stein Marlborough will offer customers a taste of Cornwall in the English countryside, serving up fresh Cornish ingredients including sustainable fish and seafood. The restaurant will be open all day, serving coffee, cake and substantial breakfast dishes including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, smoked haddock omelette and a full English breakfast. Lunchtime will see a selection of light specials available from £10.95 including a hand- picked crab sandwich, classic Moules Frites and a lighter lunch portion of their traditional fish and chips. For dinner, the cosy space is ideal for a casual midweek meal or a celebratory occasion with the option of the à la carte menu or the set menu offering two courses for £20.95 or three for £25.95. Standout dishes on the à la carte menu include grilled Mount’s Bay sardines with a tomato, garlic and thyme dressing, scallops in the half shell with hazelnut and coriander butter and Indonesian seafood curry served with pilau rice and a green bean and grated coconut salad. Set menu choices include a coarse pork and herb terrine with toasted sourdough and beetroot chutney, Pondicherry cod curry with basmati rice and passion fruit pavlova with Chantilly cream. To accommodate guests who would still prefer to dine at home, Rick Stein Marlborough offers a takeaway service. On the menu are favourites like the fish and chips and Thai fish cakes which will all be available to order via the Rick Stein app and collect at the restaurant. Since first opening in 2016, Rick Stein Marlborough has been proud to support the community by adding a Marlborough pudding to the menu with 50p of each portion sold donated to the Marlborough Food Bank. The team are delighted to have a cheque for £1,800 which has been raised over the past 12 months to present to the local food bank, in addition to the £1,000 donated this time last year.
