Your Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Wedding- August/September 2020 (Issue 22)
Our cake was a three-tier Victoria sponge decorated with a trail of rainbow-coloured roses. Our cat, JP, also featured on it! It was created by Sam B’s maid-of-honour. Our mothers both wore a bright festival-inspired floral corsage and our fathers and brothers each had a buttonhole to match our theme. Our table centrepieces were also natural arrangements of wildflowers. We each carried a bouquet of wildflowers and our maid-of-honours had bouquets of hand-picked varieties arranged by Sam B’s mother. We both knew that we wanted to host a large party to celebrate our marriage. The legal event was significant, but we wanted this to be small. We both love the great outdoors so when we found Charlton Manor, it gave us a blank slate (an empty field!) to create and plan our special day - it was the most beautiful and perfect location. We made our table plan using wooden pallets that we painted black and decorated with ivy and lavender. Each table was named after places that we had visited around the world with our top table called Provincetown. We also made our order of the day board from a recycled pallet and our place names were simply written on rustic pieces of paper. 34
