Your Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Wedding- June/July 2020 (Issue 21)
HOT TOPIC Our regional experts talk all things wedding TUTU CUTE Meet the expert: Lucy Menghini is the owner of Six Stories, an independent bridal brand with a studio based in Wiltshire offering brides stylish fashion and accessories. I would like my adult bridesmaids and flowergirls to wear something fashionable and a bit different and quirky, what can you suggest? Lucy says: Why not consider a jumpsuit for bridesmaids? They look great and can be worn again after the wedding so that they get more wear out of them. They’re a great contrast against your wedding dress and the fashionable look makes for stylish wedding pictures. Another idea is to add a floor-length tulle cape for the ceremony that can be removed for the evening party. This is currently a popular trend that allows bridesmaids to enjoy two different looks throughout the day. For flowergirls, there’s nothing cuter than a tutu! Our handmade, floor-length tutus are available in a variety of colours including pastel pink and champagne tones, and they look great teamed with Converse trainers or Dr Martens for an edgy look. If you have three or more flowergirls, put together a complementary palette of colours. The different coloured skirts will look great styled together, especially in photographs and on the dancefloor! She offers a high-quality service using only the best brands to ensure that clients always look their best. I want to book a professional make-up artist. How long will it take to have my make-up applied on the wedding morning and will the final look last all day, or should I bring along any touch-up products with me? Kamila says : Booking a professional make-up artist for your big day is a great way of making sure that your wedding morning is relaxing and enjoyable for everyone. A bridal application can take from one hour to one hour and 30 minutes, depending on what sort of look is required. A soft and natural style usually takes less time than a more glamorous one. For bridesmaids and mothers, I would allow between 30 and 45 minutes per person. If your bridal party is bigger, it’s worth considering booking two make-up artists to make sure that everybody is ready on time. Professional artists use various products including primers, setting sprays and powders to ensure products last all day and night, no matter what the weather. However, there are a few things that you should include in your touch-up bag to make sure you say looking flawless until your last dance. Lipstick and lip liner, translucent powder, lash adhesive and tissues are essentials! Also, it’s worth having a refreshing spray like a hydrating face mist to hand that won’t disturb professionally applied, waterproof make-up but it will keep you feeling refreshed, especially on a hot day.
